Information about SG elections available

A general information session about upcoming elections for the University of Florida’s Student Government starts at 6 p.m. today in the Reitz Student Union, Room 361.

Erika Kane, the new supervisor of elections for the UF Spring 2006 Elections, also announced other dates of interest related to the upcoming election:

  • Feb. 2, last day for political party registration. Due by noon in the Reitz Student Union, Room 300.
  • Feb. 3, qualifying, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Reitz Student Union, Room 346.
  • Feb. 6-7, qualifying, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Reitz Student Union, Room 287.
  • Feb. 8, mandatory meeting for all candidates running for student body, 9:30 p.m., Reitz Student Union, Rooms 361-363.
  • Feb. 28-March 1, elections
  • March 7-8, runoffs, if necessary.

Student Government has openings for positions in the executive, legislative and judicial branches for qualifying students.
