ESPN's Darren Rovell to speak to sport management students at the University of Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Darren Rovell, sports business reporter for ESPN, will visit the University of Florida as a guest of the newly formed Gator Sport Management Club at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the Florida Gym, Room 230. He will address University of Florida sport management students on the topic of “Sports Business: A Two Hundred Billion Dollar Game.”

The event is open to all students and is free of charge. It was rescheduled from Oct. 24 because of Hurricane Wilma.

The University of Florida Bookstore has donated copies of Rovell’s book, “First in Thirst,” to be given away to selected students in the audience. Other prizes will be provided by the Gator Sport Management Club.

Prior to the presentation, Rovell will host a book signing at the bookstore from 1 to 2 p.m.

The ESPN personality is committed to making time for sport management students and is dedicated to imparting his knowledge and experiences to students across the country.

The Gator Sport Management Club is composed of sport management students in the Department of Tourism, Recreation and Sport Management in the College of Health and Human Performance. The club’s mission is to provide networking and professional opportunities for sport management students. The club plans to invite selected sports business personalities and alumni from the industry who are professionals and experts in their field.
