Museum to host free concert by the Kastles

September 27, 2005

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — UF’s Florida Museum of Natural History will host a free “seafaring” concert by Tom and Chris Kastle at 11 a.m. Saturday.

The two internationally acclaimed singers, sailors, songwriters and storytellers are recognized for their distinct interpretations of traditional materials as well as their original works.

With their engaging performances, warm vocals and skillful instrumentation, the Kastles celebrate the bounty and beauty of land and sea. They have performed at festivals, concerts and on radio and television throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. Since 1985, the Kastles have pursued sailing, serving as crew aboard tall ships and other traditional sailing vessels and gaining first-hand experiences of the traditions and cultural diversity of life at sea.

The concert is sponsored by the Friends of the Alachua County Library District.
