July 18, 2005

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Improvisation and impersonation will meet on stage when Wayne Brady appears at the 80th Annual University of Florida Gator Growl “Revenge of the Swamp” on Friday, Oct. 7, at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

Brady is best known for his Emmy Award-winning role on the hit television show “Whose Line Is It Anyway?,” and he won two Daytime Emmy Awards for Best Talk Show Host for “The Wayne Brady Show,” which ended its run in 2004. He has recently been selling out venues across the country with his new improvisational show, “Wayne Brady and Friends.” The show combines musical parodies with classic Brady improvisational antics and entertains spectators of all ages.

“I had the opportunity to see Wayne Brady last month at his show in Las Vegas, and I was absolutely blown away,” said Gator Growl Producer Robert Carmody. “I’m sure it will be the same for everyone attending Gator Growl.”

The first 15,000 students to purchase tickets will receive a special discounted price of $5. General public admission tickets are $18 each. Students can purchase the discounted tickets at the University Box Office in the lobby of the Constans Theatre adjacent to the Reitz Student Union.

Those wishing to purchase general public admission tickets can do so at any Ticketmaster location, Ticketmaster.com, via phone at (904) 353-3309 and at the University Box Office. Student tickets cannot be purchased through Ticketmaster.
