GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The following events are scheduled in the near future at or near the University of Florida:

Human rights activist talks at UF

Radha Paudel, one of Nepal’s most respected human rights activists, will give a public talk at 6 p.m. May 19 in McKay Auditorium, Pugh Hall. She promotes women’s empowerment, social and economic justice, health care, education, the environment and cooperative business practices.

Event focuses on bicycle safety

UF’s Interdisciplinary Center for Biotechnology Research Green Team will host its first Bike Day from 9 to 11 a.m. May 20 on the east side of the Cancer & Genetics Research Complex, Gale Lemerand Drive and Southwest Archer Road. UF police will register bikes and other items to aid in the recovery of theft. The Pedestrian/Bicycling Safety Resource Center will provide free helmet fittings and bicycle helmets.
