Professor works with Wynton Marsalis on London project

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — University of Florida professor James Oliverio was on hand recently for the rehearsals and sold-out London premiere performances of trumpeter Wynton Marsalis’ “Swing Symphony,” featuring the combined forces of the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra and the London Symphony conducted by Sir Simon Rattle.

UF student breaks world record in joggling

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — University of Florida electrical engineering major Matthew Feldman, who is conducting research this summer at Rice University in Houston, broke a Guinness World Record for joggling – jogging and juggling – Friday at the Rice University running track.

Florida consumers’ confidence jumps, UF survey finds

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Consumer confidence among Floridians rose in July by three points from the revised June figure to 76, which is nine points higher than this time last year, according to a monthly University of Florida survey.

UF students place second in international robotic submarine competition

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — University of Florida engineering students have garnered a second-place finish at the International RoboSub Competition in San Diego, where they tested their skills with a small robotic submarine autonomously maneuvering through a series of obstacles on a military base.
