March performances range from classical to Broadway
GAINESVILLE, Fla. â€“ University of Florida Performing Arts hosts 13 performances in March from a variety of genres, including Broadway, dance, jazz, classical, vocal and world.
International percussion sensation â€śSTOMPâ€ť makes its fourth Phillips Center appearance, this time with three performances â€“ 7:30 p.m. March 30; 2 p.m. March 31; and 7:30 p.m. March 31.
Also making a return to the Phillips Center will be Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis (March 12); Pilobolus Dance Theatre (March 18); Celtic Crossroads (March 23); and Peking Acrobats (March 25).
Other Phillips Center performances include Mel Brooksâ€™ â€śYoung Frankensteinâ€ť on March 28 â€“ winner of the 2008 Outer Critics Circle Award and the Broadway.com Audience Award for best musical; the world renowned Joffrey Ballet on March 27; and Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie on March 11.
Young Concert Artist Jeanine De Bique, soprano (March 19) and classical guitarist MiloĹˇ KaradagliÄ‡ (March 29) will perform in Squitieri Studio Theatre (located inside the Phillips Center), while jazz pioneer and Grammy nominee Vijay Iyer will perform at University Auditorium March 24.
Ticket prices range from $20-60 for reserved seating, depending on the show.
UF student tickets are currently on sale and available at a price of $12 for most shows; excluding Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis ($15), â€śYoung Frankensteinâ€ť ($20) and â€śSTOMPâ€ť ($15).
