Chilli thrips

This file photo released by the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences shows an adult chilli thrips, an invasive insect established in Florida in 2005. It preys on more than 100 plant species, including many of the state’s most significant crops. A new UF study suggests growers may be able to fight the pest with a predatory mite already approved for use in Florida.
