President Bernie Machen and presidents of 10 other Florida universities wrote a March 17 Miami Herald op-ed column about the need for universities to determine their own tuition. The column was edited by the News Bureau’s Op-Ed service. It also appeared in many other Florida newspapers, including the St. Petersburg Times, The Gainesville Sun and The Tallahassee Democrat.
