Eastside High School group to raise funds for UF center for autism

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Eastside High School’s Students Together for Autism Research, also called STAR, will host the 2nd Annual Autism Awareness 5K Walk-Run on Feb. 28.

UF notifies thousands of possible breach of ‘Grove’ computer system

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — University of Florida officials are making every effort to notify more than 97,200 people that an intruder gained access to a computer system containing files with their personal information.

Genetic tests may improve dosing of widely used anti-clotting drug

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Doctors can use a patient’s genetic information to more accurately prescribe doses of a commonly used blood-thinning drug whose potency and side effects vary greatly from one person to the next, reports an international team of medical scientists including researchers from the University of Florida.
