Butterfly Buds
In this photo released from the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, entomologist Keith Willmott holds two butterfly species from the subfamily Ithomiinae. The insects are part of a group that evolved similar wing patterns to warn predators they all taste bad. Willmott was part of a research team that showed these species also evolved to favor the same habitats.
