Florida consumer confidence rises as residents look to the future

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Consumer confidence among Floridians rose one point to 60 in July from its revised index and all-time low record in June, signaling that state residents may be looking ahead to when the housing market picks up, a new University of Florida study finds.

UF professor wins international award for research in quantum chemistry

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — So Hirata, an assistant professor of chemistry at the University of Florida, has been selected to receive the 2008 Annual Medal of the International Academy of Quantum Molecular Science. WCBA finance major wins $5,000 study abroad scholarship

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Gustavo Bartczak, a senior in the Warrington College of Business Administration (WCBA), recently won the $5,000 Freeman-ASIA scholarship award.
Gustavo, a Coral Springs resident, will use the scholarship this fall semester to study in China at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.
