Common Reading unveiling to occur on Feb. 22

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The new book selected for the Common Reading Program will be unveiled at 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 22 at the Plaza of the Americas. The provost and vice president of Student Affairs will be in attendance.

Humans inhabited New World’s doorstep for 20,000 years

Anthropology professor Connie Mulligan was quoted in a Feb. 13 Reuters story about her research that found early migrants from Asia to the New World stayed possibly 20,000 years on a strip of land called Beringia that once connected Alaska to Siberia.
