No place to hide
Dog trainer Jose “Pepe” Peruyero watches as Nudie, a 9-pound Chinese
crested terrier mix, digs furiously to signal that she’s found bedbugs
hidden in a bed at Peruyero’s J&K Canine Academy in High Springs, Fla.,
on May 1, 2007. The academy has been collaborating with UF
entomologists for more than three years and will be certifying
bedbug-detecting dogs on the Gainesville campus May 6-9.
