Bala Rathinasabapathi, an associate professor with the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, holds genetically modified tomatoe plants in Gainesville – Thursday, March 30, 2006. The gene, which poses no threat to human health, could help farmers cope with harsh climates and global warming.
