Experts may have found what triggers dementia in some people with HIV and AIDS. In healthy people, white blood cells gather to fight infections. But a University of Florida study shows that in HIV patients those white blood cells crowd into the temporal lobe to fight the virus over-crowding brain tissue, which starts to degenerate.
