Robosub

SubjuGator, a 30-pound robotic submarine designed and built by a team of University of Florida engineering students, traverses the bottom of a swimming pool. The sub placed first in a national competition of of 21 student-built autonomous submarines earlier this month. Researchers say that, once perfected, robotic submarines could repair underwater pipelines, guard ports and conduct offensive military operations.
