Private marinas disappearing

Robert Swett, an assistant professor with the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences in Gainesville, said coastal development is reducing boater access to marine waters in coastal states — Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005. Swett, who analyzes boat traffic to help local governments improve access to waterways, says more public docks are needed to handle the growing number of boats in Florida.
