Wild ID
GAINESVILLE, Fla.—University of Florida researcher Ginger Clark, foreground, and Daniel Brazeau examine images of DNA fragments on a light table as part of their efforts to use forensic DNA techniques to help Florida wildlife officers bag poachers. Since taking on their first case in 1998, the researchers have helped crack about 30 cases statewide, resulting in the prosecution of poachers of out-of-season deer as well as turkey, turtles, alligators and other hunted species.
